New photos and smartphone recommendation

Long time without posting on my blog, so, I think is time to update it a little bit . Yes, I am still here, but very, very busy with my work, attending to conferences and visiting different places. I just uploaded on Flickr some recent photos from my last trips (Lake Garda, Verona, Salzburg, Tirol, Traverse City, Michigan, Urbana-Champaign, El Escorial, Madrid):

I am thinking to change/replace two devices: Nokia E71 and the iPod Touch, with just one, a new smartphone and I have in mind: iPhone 4, HTC Desire and Nexus One, but I am still not decided which one to buy. So, I need your help, which one would you choose?

Desire: radio fm and sense ui but not android 2.2 and I am not sure if it will get 2.2 even if HTC said that it will get
Nexus: android 2.2 but not the others mentioned above
iPhone: 180-200 Euro more than the other two, and of course not all what I can have on the other two

BTW, openSUSE 11.3 is great, but you already know that

Yes, I’m still alive but I am very busy with the writting of my PhD Thesis. In two months time I have to submit it, so it needs my full attention, no time for anything else. In the meantime I obtained a new job, for the next three years, starting from September at Forschungszentrum Juelich (FZJ), in Germany.

Short Weekend Trip: Liverpool and Knowsley Safari Park

Having a few days holiday, we decided to visit something here in UK, so we went to Liverpool and Knowsley Safari Park.

“Knowsley Safari Park has become one of Merseyside’s premier leisure attractions, winning several awards for tourism and it’s animal husbandry.”

“These days Knowsley’s 500 mammals include rhinos, camels, buffalo, bison, wildebeest, lions, tigers, zebra, baboons, monkeys, deer, antelopes and wallabies.”

After a few weeks spending to see which laptop is suitable for my wife needs (something under 2 kg, 13.3″ display, battery more than 3 hours and nice design) we decided to buy a Sony VAIO SR19XN, with has a good configuration. A few days in Cambridge

Last week, I attended to “Self-Assembly and Self-Organisation at Surfaces and Interfaces” conference, in Cambridge. I had a short presentation about my scientific work. The conference has been in Selwyn College at the University of Cambridge. The programme also included a concert of world music by Daphna Sadeh and the Voyagers which took place in Selwyn College Chapel. I took a few photos, they are available on my flickr page:

Insert Tables in Wordpress posts

I needed to insert tables in wordpress posts, but I found just one plugin for this task WP-Table. But it will not work, it is not compatible with the new wordpress versions. What I did is to use google docs: File -> New Document -> Table -> Insert, populate your table.

Now, when you finished the table go to: Edit -> Edit HTML. Copy the HTML source code for the table and paste that html code in your wordpress posts, but in HTML EDIT MODE.

I hope that the method will work also for you.
