New photos and smartphone recommendation
Long time without posting on my blog, so, I think is time to update it a little bit
. Yes, I am still here, but very, very busy with my work, attending to conferences and visiting different places. I just uploaded on Flickr some recent photos from my last trips (Lake Garda, Verona, Salzburg, Tirol, Traverse City, Michigan, Urbana-Champaign, El Escorial, Madrid):

I am thinking to change/replace two devices: Nokia E71 and the iPod Touch, with just one, a new smartphone and I have in mind: iPhone 4, HTC Desire and Nexus One, but I am still not decided which one to buy. So, I need your help, which one would you choose?
Desire: radio fm and sense ui but not android 2.2 and I am not sure if it will get 2.2 even if HTC said that it will get
Nexus: android 2.2 but not the others mentioned above
iPhone: 180-200 Euro more than the other two, and of course not all what I can have on the other two
BTW, openSUSE 11.3 is great, but you already know that

Thanks for your suggestion, it is a good phone, but, as I remember, Incredible was built by HTC specifically for the U.S and it is not available in Europe.
a) good idea but what about the warranty?
b) this will take some time, maybe for Nexus 2, at some point, but I would like not to wait so much time and to buy something.
c) I am not an Apple fanboy even if I have a MBP which I love it
. I like their hardware but I am not sure if I want to pay more money for something which is behind Desire/Nexus as features and specifications.
Personally, I would wait for HP to release the promised new Palm phones for business in the fall. WebOS is so much more userfriendly than Android, plus a bit more ‘clean’ (Jeff Waugh wrote something hilarious about it: http://bethesignal.org/blog/2010/06/07/why-im-excited-about-palms-webos/).
I love my Palm Pixi _although_ its (lack of) speed would make it unusable for a business device.
thanks for the link, it is a nice reading. As I mentioned, I would like to buy something soon and to use it, because any time will appear new models, nicer and better.
My advice is to wait until Android 2.2 is default onto a device you buy from a shop as I do not trust 3rd partly firmware providers and companies like HTC to bring an update for device you already have. I know that you do not like to wait but the iPod touch and your Nokia can survive together for another 6-12 months
.
iPhone 4 in Germany is unfortunately locked to T-mobile and very expensive and unlocked is way to expensive. Maybe a iPhone 3GS will be a compromise
A cheaper solution is HRC Wildfire if you can live with a middle level Android.
I don’t see the WebOS successful and will mostly used by Palm fans as it’s not attractive to anyone else and very US centric. When I can get apps from Apple or Google who reckons will create apps for WebOS? WebOS will be 5th after Apple, Google/Android, Blackberry and soon MeeGo (Nokia/Intel).
Desire will probably get 2.2 in the following weeks:

And there’s also all those third-party 2.2 mods out there. Desire seems to have a better HW than Nexus (especially with its HW buttons), so I’d prefer it over Nexus.
Also, check out Samsung Galaxy S, I hear it’s got the best screen ever (Super AMOLED, no other device has it yet).
iPhone – well, umm, no comments
Yes, I am more on the Desire side, too. Galaxy is a bit bigger for my taste, that’s why it is not on my list

a) you can flash Desire with Cyanogenmod which is based on Android 2.2
b) rumor has it that Nexus has FM radio but it is not visible from OS yet (maybe next Android version?)
c) if you are an Apple fanboy buy this one, otherwise I would go for Desire or Nexus
