Avogadro: Segmentation fault – solved
That’s my first post to the great Planet, so “Hello PlanetSuse!!!”. If you are curios and you would like to know more about me, check my website and you will find many interesting things, my work, my research and so on.
I was running Avogadro on my openSUSE 11.1 box, but I have got a “segmentation fault”. If you have the same problem, in order to solve the issue just update your python-numpy package. That’s all.
If you don’t know what Avogadro is:
“Avogadro is an advanced molecular editor designed for cross-platform use in computational chemistry, molecular modeling, bioinformatics, materials science, and related areas. It offers flexible rendering and a powerful plugin architecture.”
and three nice pictures:

thanks for your comment. I have 0.9.4 version and there is already the option “fetch from PDB”. What do you mean by “pdb download”?
I forgot I put that in just before the release. Just after I added the option to paste any URL and Avogadro will attempt to download the file. We have also been working hard on the interface and I think there are quite a few improvements in store for the next release.

Great to see you solved the issue with Avogadro. We are always here to help if you have any further problems or suggestions. I recently added PDB download among other things and that should be in a new release soon. This is a great time to point out bugs before we freeze our API in June to make way for Avogadro 1.0.
