COMSOL Multiphysics Workshop

Today, I attended a small workshop, “Comsol Multiphysics”.  If you are not aware what is this “piece” of software I can say that is a great environment to solve any physical problems on computer. From their website:

“The COMSOL Multiphysics simulation environment facilitates all steps in the modelling process, defining your geometry, specifying your physics, meshing, solving and then post-processing your results. A multiphysics simulation is achieved in minutes.”

“COMSOL 3.4 leverages multicore processors to deliver best-in-class multiphysics simulation performance on standard dual-core, quad-core, and multicore PCs.”

I had no contact with Comsol before this session, but I think they convinced me that it is a great software which can be used for a lot of simulations in different fields, in engineering, scientific environment, for modelling and simulating any physics-based system.

The workshop started with two short presentations, where the speakers introduced the company, gave us a short introduction in using the graphical user interface, and at the end they showed us a “live” demo. In the second part we tried to do our own model and simulation, using their step by step clear instructions.

Now, I am waiting for a DVD with a trial version, (they promissed me that it will be send by post in next days) to have the posibility to see if I can apply it on my problems.
