OpenSUSE: From 10.2 to 10.3

A few days ago, the OpenSUSE team announced the new release, 10.3.

This version comes with several new technologies, contains: KDE 3.5.7, GNOME 2.20, a new 1-click-install technology, out-of-the-box MP3 support, Compiz-Fusion, XEN, Qemu, VirtualBox, KVM, OpenOffice.org 2.3, some Yast modules redesigned. You can read more to official release announcement.

I was very curios to see it on my computer, so I just downloaded the DVD version and I started to upgrade my box. Before, I did some backups of my old system to be sure that after this update I will not miss something. The procedure went smoothly, and finally I had again the same fully working system as before. The only thing was that it could not update a few packages, during the update process, and I had to delete these packages and install them after that.

Already there are many reviews on internet about, I am not going to do a new one, so, I only will conclude that OpenSuse is a very good and mature distro which can do happy everyone. If you are considering using Linux, but aren’t sure which distro is for you, give it a try and you will not regret.
